If you're injured to the point that R.I.C.E. (Rest, Icing, Compression,
Elevation) is not enough, and you need to see a doctor, going to Emergency
at the local hospital is not
recommended. Doctors at Sports Medicine Clinics have been trained to deal
specifically with sports injuries, plus you can get follow-up physiotherapy
at the clinic if you need it.
Here is a list of Sports Medicine Clinics in the Ottawa/Nepean/Kanata
area. Doctors visits are covered by your Ontario Health Card.
No referral is required. Physiotherapy is covered by insurance.

Stores selling Ankle Braces, Supports, etc:
- Carleton University Sports Clinic
- at C.U. Sports Centre (From University Dr off Bronson Ave, turn left into P5. Enter the main builting there.)
- 520-3510
Ask your physiotherapist. As of 2010, the best store seems to have gone out of business. You can buy on-line, but only if you know what size and style of brace you need. Otherwise, someone who understands your injury and what will support it should recommend a brace for you. There is no point in buying a brace that isn't going to support your injury!
